Tiny Core Linux 6.4.1 RC1 Now Available for Download and Testing
Robert Shingledecker, the mastermind behind Tiny Core Linux, has exciting news for us – the first Release Candidate (RC) build of the highly anticipated Tiny Core Linux 6.4.1 operating system is now available for download and testing!
This milestone release, labeled as Tiny Core Linux 6.4.1 RC1, introduces several small yet significant improvements to the already impressive Tiny Core Linux 6.4 version. Among the changes, we can mention the removal of the unnecessary /mnt/test directory, as well as the addition of the quote arguments feature to the ondemand and tc-functions components.
Moreover, the tc-functions component now allows passing of arguments to ondemand items without the need for .desktop files, and both the ondemand and tc-functions components can now receive arguments. Additionally, the former will no longer start on its own.
“We, the Tiny Core team, are thrilled to announce the availability of Tiny Core 6.4.1 rc1 for public testing,” said Robert Shingledecker, the maintainer of Tiny Core Linux, in the release announcement. “Please be aware that this is a release candidate, so we kindly ask you to test it carefully to avoid any data loss. Your feedback is highly appreciated.”
All Tiny Core Linux Editions Can Be Downloaded Now
Those who want to get a taste of the upcoming Tiny Core Linux 6.4.1 operating system can now download the RC1 (Release Candidate 1) ISO images of Tiny Core 6.4.1, Tiny Core Plus 6.4.1, and Tiny Core Linux 6.4.1 from the famous Softpedia software portal.
Keep in mind though that these are pre-release versions of the upcoming Tiny Core Linux 6.4.1 release, which should hit the streets in a few weeks from today. As such, we don’t recommend installing any of them on production machines, where stability is crucial.
